Annual Holiday Banquet and Auction benefiting Vaughn-Trent Community Services

The Bonner Springs Rotary Club cordially invites you to attend our Annual Holiday Banquet to benefit Vaughn-Trent Community Services, a food pantry and social services organization, 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame’s Event Barn.

The event will include festive libations, good cheer and a holiday dinner, with a performance of seasonal songs by the Bonner Springs High School Choir and a live and silent auction. Please join us to kick off the holiday season and improve the holidays for those served by Vaughn-Trent. Read more about this event here.

37th Annual Tiblow Trot 2 Mile Fun Walk & 5 Mile Run, August 29

Tiblow TrotThe 37th Annual Bonner Springs Rotary Tiblow Trot 2 Mile Fun Walk and 5 Mile Run is August 29th at 7 a.m. Register online now. Meet at Kelly Murphy Park at 2nd and Elm Street in Bonner Springs, KS. All funds raised go toward scholarships and the Rotary’s Polio Plus Program to end Polio worldwide.

Price:

Tiblow Trot 5 Mile Run and 2 Mile Fun Walk: $25 until August 28 / $30 Day of Race
Kids Run or Walk (12 and under): $10 with shirt (free without shirt)

Race begins promptly at 7:00 AM – rain or shine.

Parking: We suggest parking at Bonner Springs Elementary School or along the nearby streets (2nd, Forest, Neconi). Downtown streets (Elm, Oak, Cedar/32) will be closed for Tiblow Days. Using the school parking lot will allow you a nice warm-up run or walk up the 2nd street hill to registration at Kelly Murphy Park at 2nd and Elm. Note: Neconi is a southward one-way street between Shadyside and 2nd Street. You can enter the school parking lot from 2nd Street just west of Neconi. Divisions: Male and Female 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

Awards at 8:15 a.m. (approximately):

  • T-shirts for the first 200 entrants
  • Trophies to the 1st through 3rd finishers of each division
  • Trophies to the 1st male and female finishers
  • Trophies to 1st and last walkers, youngest walker and largest group
  • Drawing for prizes donated by the Bonner Springs merchants will follow the awards ceremony
  • All race finishers and walkers are eligible for the drawing

Mark your calendar. The Bonner Springs Rotary Club is making an impact on our community!

Join us Friday, April 4th for Greater Kansas City Day (Paper Day). Members are selling Kansas City Star newspapers on the main corners in Bonner Springs in the morning. The funds raised will support the Bonner Springs YMCA youth scholarship fund.

2013 Scholarship Winners

Monday, April 21st Rotary will award three $1,000 scholarships to Bonner Springs High School students at the Rotary Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Dinner at Tall Oaks. Scholarship funds are raised through various local fundraisers by the Bonner Springs Rotary Club.

Rotary’s Vaughn Trent Auction Raises More than $8,000

What an amazing evening for the Bonner Springs Rotary’s Annual Vaughn-Trent Auction held on December 5. Almost 100 guests attended and bid on more than 50 auction items, raising more than $8,000 for Vaughn-Trent.  Congrats to the Rotary members who planned this memorable event and a special thank you for all who attended. Looking forward to the next Rotary event!

Vaughn-Trent provides emergency assistance to those who live in the Bonner Springs school district and meet income guidelines. Services include: Free breads and pastries Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am-noon; Food pantries; Utility assistance; and Christmas baskets the middle of December.
